Job Description:

Technical team member to implement and support database activity monitoring using IBM Guardium. Will also support monitoring using legacy Netezza Mantra.

Implement database activity monitoring using IBM Guardium on mission critical databases. Will also support Netezza Mantra monitoring solution until it is phased out in early 2013.

Work with the Technology Monitoring project team, application owners, database  administrators, system engineers, and network engineers to design, configure, implement, and support database monitoring solutions.

Perform duties as assigned, which may include, but are not limited to, capacity planning, hardware and software configuration and installation, upgrading, monitoring, tuning, responding to trouble calls, data backup and recovery, automation of processes, and configuration of the security of Guardium implementation.

The successful candidate will collaborate with the technical lead to solve technical problems. After decisions have been made, the technician will be expected to work independently to implement the solution.

Must possess excellent troubleshooting skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.

This position requires at least five years of IT experience and a Bachelor's degree in the computer field.
