Role: Captiva Developer

Location: SAN DIEGO, California

Duration: 6+ months

 

The Master- Level Captiva Developer (DE5) position is a recognized authority within the Document Processing team supporting the enterprise portfolio. This position applies deep broad technical knowledge of technology and industry trends for content management systems. In conjunction with the Documentum Architect, this position leads the development, implementation and maintenance of highly complex enterprise environments utilizing EMCs Captiva and other components such as Documentum and Adobe LiveCycle.

 

The Captiva Technical Lead devises the resolution of critical and highly complex problems for the enterprise Document Processing system. This includes, but is not limited to the following activities:

Elicit, review and validate customer paper conversion requirements and suggest best practice approaches
Develop custom thin-client capture user interfaces that adapt the capture solution to the customer business processes using Captiva software
Develop high-volume, batch oriented, centralized capture solutions using Captiva software
Install and configure Captiva InputAccel and eInput software components in N-tiered server environments
Integrate the Captiva software with various document management products such as FileNet or Documentum
Provides technical leadership and utilizes technology trends to:
o Educate the client and development team on leading-edge technology alternatives
o Solve technical issues that junior members of the team are unable to address
o Interpret biases among the different technical worlds
o Enable the client and development team to make informed decisions
o Reviews data components of solutions and proposals
The ability to install, configure and tailor specific COTS products to support an overall document processing solution consisting of multiple COTS projects that handle
o Records management
o Scanning
o Data extraction
o E-forms
o Automated outgoing document generation
The Master-Level Captiva Architect/Developer collaborates with Documentum and HPES enterprise architects to ensure the sound design and implementation of the capture solutions. Specifically:

Determine the application/system design and their impact on standard system architecture:
o Hardware sizing and selection
o Network storage
o Load balancing; performance
o Security- Authentication, access control and auditing
o Business continuity; high availability, backup and recovery
Tune COTS products for efficiency and throughput based on the specifics of the document processing project
