Build/Release Engineer
Position Overview
This candidate will work as a contributing member of our Internet Delivery System (THIDS) platform and shared services teams. This team is responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing a common platform for web based applications that assist our customers in making informed healthcare decisions. It is a large scale, high volume platform supporting scores of applications and processing millions of page views per day.
Essential Responsibilities
This position is responsible for Development Operations including build/deploy automation, software configuration management, and system admin functions. A candidate with a strong background in automation, scripting, and system admin is necessary. Strong leadership skills are necessary to develop and implement new systems and processes.
Qualifications
Required Experience
· Continuous build and test automation
· Defining and establishing efficient build/deploy processes
· Scripting solutions as necessary, including bash
· Supporting development and integration environments
· Providing support to a variety of internal customers
Preferred Experience
· Knowledge of build/deploy architectures
· Defining and establishing efficient build/deploy architecture and processes from scratch
· Managing virtual machines
· Acting as administrator for a source control system
· Installing and supporting third party tools
· Working across organizations like Configuration Management, Database, Operations and other Development teams to coordinate activities
· Experience with healthcare application development is a plus
· Experience with Agile development methodologies, especially Scrum
Environment (At least 1 year of experience with each of these is desirable)
· Subversion, Git, Mercurial
· Robot, JUnit
· Eclipse, IntelliJ
· Jenkins
· Ant, Maven, Gradle
· Apache, Tomcat
· Rally
· Oracle 11, Oracle RAC
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
