Top Tier Investment Bank is seeking an Core Java Developer with Hadoop
CORE JAVA
In light of recent "Unauthorized Trading (UT) events across the industry, Our Client has initiated a program to create a Holistic Trader Surveillance capability. When deployed, this solution will leverage data from the entire IB, delivering increased trading oversight by providing automated behaviour anomaly detection tools that process, analyse and correlate disparate data sets in search of predictive loss incident indicators.
Application Developer reporting into the Development lead of Project Vantage with responsibility for
Partner with the solution vendor and other CS IT groups to design and develop technical solutions across the Vantage scope including
- ETL pipelines to manage the input data sets through to the data analysis tools
- Data modelling and analysis
- Batch and processing controls to ensure that the analysis is operating on complete and accurate data sets
- System health, monitoring and housekeeping tools
- Statistical analysis and data profiling
- Reports / Dashboards for Front Office CCO, trading supervisors and shared services staff with responsibilities for Unauthorised Trading surveillance
Ensure that all technical deliverables are aligned with the solution architecture & design and meet the functional and non-functional requirements
Champion good practice and techniques; contributing to improve the team's technical & delivery capability.
Ensure the traceability of requirements to solution is maintained through the development lifecycle
Where appropriate provide subject matter expertise to support the development and validation of other project deliverables across the team
Ideally have experience in or exposure to technologies such as Hadoop, AVRO, SQOOP, HIVE, PIG, SPARK or alternatively have experience of or large scale data centric solutions
Experience of integrating vendor applications into an enterprise.
Have experience of agile application development
Show ability to be an effective team member working closely with colleagues from multiple teams and disciplines, bringing added value to the team.
Problem solving and influencing skills.
Ability to assimilate large amount of information and make judgments based on specified criteri
Summary:
The main function of a developer is to develop, create, and modify Trading Systems. A typical developer is responsible for designing applications or customizing applications for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency.
Job Responsibilities:
Modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met. Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design. Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan computer specifications and layouts, and peripheral equipment modifications. Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configuration.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of Trading Systems development.
Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
Basic ability to work independently and manage one's time.
Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software.
Basic knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in production of drawings and models.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent training required.
8-10 years experience required.
