Scrum Master/PM role.
Manager works on the Business Side of Merck.
Ideal candidate is someone who comes from the PM growth. JIRA a must. Know the vernacular is helpful.
This is for the Pediatric and Adult Pneumococcal projects. 2 Scrum Masters are needed.
Must have heavy Pharmaceutical industry experience.
Position Description:
As a Scrum Master, you will be responsible to build, measure, and maintain agility within the Adult or the Pediatric Enterprise Program (two separate job openings). An effective SM in this role will both accelerate and drive operational excellence with the cross-functional team to ensure they achieve meaningful business impact (using a mixture of lean agile, devops, system thinking and sense making methods and tools). Partner with the Business Owner (aka Product Owner) to continuously improve the efficiency, effectiveness, visibility, and quality, of the work and the team happiness to deliver better outcomes not just more outputs.
Overall, we expect you to model the Agile discipline with continuous improvement at the core of your approach – be transparent, inspect regularly, adapt where needed, and call us out if we don't do the same! As we increase our commercial agility, we are all learning something new every week – curiosity, living with ambiguity, ability to keep focus and remain resilient are probably the most important attributes you'll need to succeed here.
This role will join different areas of focus:
To join a cross functional team working on end-to-end global launches
To help build and mature the agile capability within the Pneumococcal Enterprise Team
To help develop agile as a strategic capability for the enterprise
Required Experience:
· Certified Scrum Master
· At least 24 months experience as a Scrum Master deployed in a complex organizational environment
· Ability to work effectively and efficiently through Jira and MS Teams
· Project Management - self-steering, proactive, organized with the ability to determine independently what needs to be done within workstreams.
· Ability to define and follow standards for Agile ways of working within the business
· Ability to act as a servant leader by seeking to understand by listening, and focusing on the people, teams, and the business
· Ability to act as strong team player who enables and challenges the agile team members to encourage collaboration
