SAP Systems Engineering specialist with SAP Cloud Integration and Monitoring through SolMan ( SAP Basis Hana Admin )

New York ( Onsite )

Initial 1-year duration

 

General scope of work:

This position will serve to reinforce the ERP Project's capacity in respect of Systems Engineering, specifically concerning the ongoing design, build, deployment, maintenance and optimization of the UN's SAP ERP systems as well as the integration with SAP Cloud. Therefore, the scope of work covers both the various SAP systems and applications part of the UMOJA On-Premise landscape as well as the integration of select SAP Cloud applications and solutions with the same, particularly IBP and SAC.

 

Reporting to Umoja ERP staff, the SAP Engineering specialist will support the following major work areas

-      Provide technical expertise and support work in respect of the ERP's On-premise SAP landscape, such as, but not limited to, SAP ECC, SRM, HANA, BW, SLT, BOBJ, BODS, PI, TM/EM, CRM, BPC, IBP, Fiori, Portal.

-      Assists across the spectrum of the ERP's production support work, including upgrades, system/component installation, installation of patches and Support pack stacks, landscape maintenance, HANA administration, related Security and transports management.

-      Supports the effective optimization of SAP NetWeaver security standards to ensure secure communication between distributed systems, with SAP data storage and network security, inter alia.

 

Specific task areas: 

• SAP Systems Engineering, Basis administration and Production support operations:

o    Support SAP Basis workstream activities including, but not limited to, performing transports, landscape and instance maintenance, client copies, system refreshes, system installation, support pack stack upgrades, software release management, problem determination, resolution and incident management

o    Support day-to-day operations of the ERP SAP systems landscape, including tickets, performance tuning, sizing monitoring, troubleshooting, etc.

o    Support end-to-end SAP HANA, BOBJ and BODS Administration tasks including in respect of security.

• Engage with the ERP's functional team to drive system performance monitoring, testing and tuning as required, including with respect to SAP cloud integration with On-premise.

 

·         Technical Integration of SAP Cloud with SAP On-premise Landscapes and Applications:

• Support and maintain infrastructure platform, network, security and storage components in a cloud environment working with VMWare, Storage subsystem, Network components such as Load Balancer, Secure Socket Layer communication, VPN etc.

o    Support the actual engineering and integration of On-premise SAP solution with cloud-based solutions such as SAC and IBP.

 

• Solution Manager System administration and Monitoring Solutions:

o    Enhance system and application monitoring solutions (technical monitoring, focused insight etc.)

o    Design Focused Insight dashboards for tactical monitoring and control center.

o    Analyse and apply SAP Security Hot News and Patches

 

Qualifications and experience  

Ø  A minimum of 12 years of experience delivering SAP Systems engineering services including Integration of SAP On-premise landscape with SAP Cloud.

Ø  In respect of SAP Cloud integration with SAP On-premise systems engineering, said experience must include at least one full end-to-end implementation and support [particularly IBP and/or SAC].

Ø  Experience with SAP Cloud solutions (PaaS/SaaS) including technical evaluation, roadmap planning, architecture integration design, migration and deployment of SAP solutions to Cloud environment (AWS, GCP or Azure) is required.

Ø  In respect of SAP systems engineering, extensive experience covering installation, upgrades, performance optimization, sizing, and systems administration as well as the connection with the infrastructure and hardware-related components [e.g., WNWare, Linux, and Oracle] is required.

Ø  Experience with the full range of technical support and engineering operations of the following SAP systems is required: ECC, SRM, HANA BW, PI, SLT, BOBJ, BI, BODS, TM/EM, CRM, BPC, IBP, FIORI, and Portal.

Ø  Experience with Solution Manager, including Focused insight to build custom monitoring operational and control center dashboards, is required.

Ø  Operational experience with Oracle database for SAP Systems/Databases is desirable.
