JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level mainframe applications. The candidate should handle complex systems, support critical applications, and guide junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance mainframe applications
- Analyze business requirements and prepare technical design (HLD/LLD)
- Perform coding, testing, debugging, and performance tuning
- Handle batch processing and ensure system performance and stability
- Conduct impact analysis and effort estimation
- Provide production support and resolve critical issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to SDLC processes and coding standards
- Mentor junior developers
Required Technical Skills
- COBOL
- JCL
- DB2
- VSAM
- CICS
- Experience with tools like Endeavor / Changeman / File-Aid / Git
- Knowledge of batch scheduling tools (CA7 / Control-M)
- Strong understanding of SDLC (Agile/Waterfall)
