Job Title               IT - Symantec Netbackup Engineer

Location               Colorado Springs, CO

Duration              7+ Months

 

Primary Skill     

•        Competencies Backup and Recovery Protocols and technology

•        Experience (Years) 8-10 

 

Description        Essential Skills

•        Having good subject knowledge of anyone operating system. (Windows/Unix) and fair knowledge of other operating system

•        Design and implementation of Netbackup environment ver 7.5 or above.

•        Perform Netbackup upgrades and migration.

•        Experience in performing Netbackup Disaster recovery.

•        Understanding the daemon flow.

•        Installation and configuration of Master/Media and clients.

•        Installation and configuration of Database agents.

•        Installation and configuration of VM proxy host.

•        Configuring and troubleshooting NDMP backup.

•        Configuring Netapp Nearstore with Netbackup.

•        Experience in handling restores requests and fixing restores issues.

•        Experience in handling VM backup.

•        Customization of RMAN scripts (Preferred)

•        Experience in Netbackup Ops center, reporting tool.

•        Configuration of Volume Pools, Storage Units, Policies, Tape drives, Robots and B2D (Backup to Disk), nearstore volumes.

•        Performing catalog backups and restores.

•        Troubleshoot backup issues by analyzing Netbackup logs.

•        Audit application backup policies and environments to ensure integrity of backup and recovery activities.
