The purpose of the IT Service Delivery Sr. is to ensure a high level of data delivery service for a technology related project(s).

 

Complete Description:

 

The purpose of the IT Service Delivery Sr. is to ensure a high level of data delivery service for a technology related project(s). Will be assigned complex initiatives characterized as departmental, enterprise/campus-wide, and critical to the overall operational success of the Institute. The Service Delivery resource practices a range of capabilities including, but not limited to project management, stakeholder satisfaction/experience, business/functional analyst, communications, quality management, and continuous improvement. This position will interact on a consistent basis with business users, data integration developers and analysts, project managers, database administrators, end-users, campus department management, faculty, and staff (students, Institute affiliates, contractors), vendors, and third-party solution providers.

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

 

• Serve as a service delivery resource for enterprise data integration team to ensure the highest level of data service delivery for the data integration project(s). Plan, implement, and track initiatives to drive service and  process improvement for data integration service domain.

• Provide oversight, coordination and assign data integration activities (software development, problem, support, and change management) across the enterprise data management teams to ensure that all works,

  and deliverables adhere to solution delivery and service level agreements.

• Responsible for identifying and clarifying data integration service requirements, setting up realistic expectations, and overcome unnecessary, unplanned, or unforeseen changes, tackle hidden small problems before they become bigger ones.

• Understand and manage the pipeline of demand and work with the management to ensure that the right type and number of resources that are required to fulfill the unplanned and planned projects.

• Maintain strong stakeholders and solution provider relationships built on trust, delivery performance, and proactive communications.

• Implement standard processes and procedures for data service domains. Leverage project management tools (JIRA, Smartsheet, MS Teams) to manage delivery and measure results in accordance with established service level agreements.

• Interface and communicate with enterprise data management teams, management, vendors/external system teams, and stakeholders on a regular basis, to create a data excellence culture of inclusion and transparency.

• Capture, define and document business process models and related documentation with the goal of driving process repeatability and continuous improvement.

• Provide guidance, education and assistance to management and other staff on the development of service/process models and related artifacts.

• Other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

• Advanced knowledge of and skills in the development, installation and maintenance of IT systems typically of a high degree of complexity and/or having campus-wide scope and impact.

• Knowledge of Enterprise Data Service (Database Management Systems, Data Warehousing platforms, Oracle/SQL Developer, Web Services)

• Enterprise Integration Tools (DataStage, MuleSoft) and Integration technologies

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and trouble-shooting skills in technical management.

• Ability to work independently and within a team environment; self-motivated.

• Established skills in time management, multi-tasking, and prioritization of work.

• Ability to remain flexible as priorities change, adaptable to change, and able to accept ambiguity.

• Effective communications skills including written, verbal, and presentation; able to effectively communicate to  all levels of the organization.

• Ability to translate technical or complex concepts into user-friendly language.

• Ability to adapt communication methods and approaches based on the audience.

• Ability to collaborate, working closely with both functional and technical teams.

• Positive interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective, successful working relationships with a wide range of people within the organization.

• Ability to manage conflict in a positive, non-abrasive manner, and comfortable interacting with individuals at all levels. 

 

Required Qualifications:

 

• 7 years of work experience with IT service delivery or delivery management

• 5 years of progressive experience as a business analyst in ERP systems

• Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science or   related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Experience managing enterprise projects; strong project management skills; IT Project methodology including  Agile

• Occasional night and weekend work may be required.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Master's degree in a related field (e.g., Management Information System, Business administration, Technology).

 

Required / Desired Skills:        

 

Progressive experience as a business analyst in ERP systems

Proven work experience with IT service delivery or delivery management

Knowledge of Enterprise Data Service (Database Management Systems, Data Warehousing platforms, Oracle/SQL Developer, Web Services)

Enterprise Integration Tools (DataStage, MuleSoft) and Integration technologies

Experience managing enterprise projects; strong project management skills; IT Project methodology including Agile
