Position: Sr. Java Developer

Location: DE

Duration: 6+ months

 

F2F is required.

 

Job Description:

·         Experience in developing web applications on J2EE platform that involve integrating with 3rd party web services.

·         Required to build new Java services that integrate with internal products & 3rd party products using web services.

·         Developer is expected to thoroughly test services using Unit & Integration testing. Need to closely work with Business & Quality Analysts on day to day basis.

·         Knowledge of various open source libraries and frameworks is very valuable, as is Agile experience. 

·         Strong communication skills with English are required.

·         Ability to understand oral and written business requirements is needed in many situations, and so we review soft skills in the review.

Technical skills and abilities:

·         In-depth knowledge of Java including JUNIT, ANT

·         In-depth knowledge of XML including XSLT and XPATH. Nice to have includes PL/SQL

·         Deployment familiarity of J2EE

·         Familiarity with major database vendors such as MS SQL Server and Oracle

·         Knowledge of enterprise application design patterns.

·         Solid interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal form.

·         Exceptional problem solving abilities.

Responsibilities:

·         Work with members of the project team and business owners to refine and clarify business requirements.

·         Produce technical specifications and provide input into general architectural decisions.

·         Provide input to assist in overall team process improvement and product design stability.

·         Code and test software to meet ING DIRECT standards and within acceptable defect tolerances of design specifications.

·         Work with IT and business test groups to support quality and acceptance tests.

·         Provide technical leadership and mentor others in general technical skills.

·         Properly track progress, effort, issues, resolutions and communicate status to project leadership

Required:

·         Spring Framework and Spring MVC

·         Tomcat or Jboss

·         JUnit (unit testing)

Highly Preferred:

·         Velocity (templating)

·         Ajax libraries like YUI!, prototype, or Jquery

·         Eclipse IDE

·         Maven

·         Mockito (unit testing mocking tools)

·         Axis2 or Spring WS

·         Apache Commons

·         SoapUI (webservice testing

Extra (Nice to have):

·         Subversion (source control)

·         AntHill Pro

·         Emma or Cobertura (code coverage)

·         FitNesse (integration testing)

·         PMD or Checkstyle (static code analysis)

·         Quartz (scheduler)
