Position : Cognos Report Developer

Location : Albany,NY

Duration : 6  months

 

 

The Developer will be perform activities related to writing complex SQL, using Cognos web-based reporting tools, and developing complex reports with security implemented.

 

MANDATORY SKILL/EXPERIENCE: (candidates that do not meet all of the following skills will not be considered)

 

1. Must have two years of experience with 4th generation language development tools.

2. Two Years of experience in:

Ø  Developing large mission critical applications using Client/Server implementation.

Ø  3-Tier design, development and deployment including RAD/JAD methodology.

Ø  Knowledge transfer, transition of systems & mentoring.

Ø  Intra/Inter Net deployment. (Pass/Fail)

 

Desirable Experience :

 

1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Superior knowledge of the English language and elevated ability to understand and be understood.

2. Four (4+) years experience:

Ø  Developing reports

Ø  Developing & testing complex reports and cubes.

Ø  Using Cognos web based reporting tools and PowerPlay.

Ø  Including implementing multi-layered security through Cognos.

Ø  3. Four (4+) years experience:

Ø  Working with users to identify complex reporting requirements.

Ø  Recommending and developing reporting solutions using Cognos.

Ø  Presenting user-friendly reports, and providing training to end users on reporting functions.

Ø  4. Four (4+) years database experience:

Ø  Writing complex SQL and doing detailed data analysis and report validation

Ø  Doing data modeling, data mapping and data migration.

Ø  In a enterprise wide data warehouse.

Ø  Utilizing an Oracle environment.

Ø  Proof of meeting education requirement must be submitted.
