Job Description: (What will the NPW do on that project?)

Responsible for application DBA (database administration) work including development and design of the databases that support our business applications and systems. Also responsible for database configuration, reliability, recoverability, performance, and the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of database software and related components. Responsible for providing application database support for Oracle databases of various software levels and versions, utilizing a wide variety of DBMS features, on several different operating system platforms for applications of differing complexities, disaster priority, mission critical designation, strategic initiatives, degree of standardization, practices, and usage of third party software. Such responsibilities typically include advanced featured databases for complex environments for high priority applications. Reaponsibilities also include SQL tuning and object management, automation, and project implementation activities, such as physical design and installation of database environments. May also be responsible for project design and estimating, DBMS product certification, DBMS product or feature subject matter expert/point of contact consultation, direction and guidance regarding database management system features, best practices development and implementation, and standards development and implementation. Oracle RAC experience, database object promotions, RMAN, object reorganizations, flexible work schedule based on needs of business. Linux/Unix required. Oracle on VCS Clusters, Golden Gate replication, Dataguard experience needed. Good communication skills and ability to easily communicate with application teams. Multiple years experience as an ORACLE DBA (systems and application) in a fast moving, complex, large corporate setting.
