Role: Sr. Java/J2EE Consultant

Location:Naples,Florida and Washington DC

Duration: 12 Months  Contract

 

Candidates must be well versed in development life cycle management and posses 3 to 5+ years experience in an (Java) application development environment. Candidates will have a good all round understanding of infrastructure architecture and an understanding of how Application Architecture fits into an organization. This position requires knowledge and experience in understanding how IT processes fit together and how companies manage their IT delivery. Position includes working with state of the art, cutting edge technologies and working on challenging projects, that interact with senior IT management within large global 5000 companies. Job Requirements: Must be fluent in English Must be able to manage tasks and be successful without the need of daily management Inquisitive nature, self starter, keeps themselves up to date in their profession and IT toolsets and trends Good all round understanding of infrastructure (application and network) architecture Some experience and exposure to project management Experience with large system migration projects a definite plus! Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills. 50-80% travel Required technical Skills: 3-5 years of JAVA development experience Solid background in Java/XML/ J2EE Application Servers. Windows batch and UNIX batch/shell scripting experience. Good understanding of development methods (Procedural, OO, SOA) as well as web application components using Java, JSP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML/XMI, WS related standards. Understanding how the mainframe systems and distributed systems work. Oracle background and understanding relational database systems. Knowledge on build tool/process like ANT Nice to Have Skills: Information Technology degree with an emphasis on JAVA development Familiarity with Metadata Management, Data Warehousing solutions and development lifecycle. Subject Matter Expertise in best of breed database, ETL, Modeling, BI Reporting tools a definite plus. Data design experience with CWM, XMI, UML and/or ER Modeling is helpful. Work with manual ETL or middleware to connect applications (PLSQL, SQL, Teradata, Cobol, Java etc.) to complete complex joins. Ability to install and administer applications on Windows, VM and UNIX servers.  

Education:
Bachelor Degree required, Advanced Degree preferred

• Strong ability to listen to business needs, identify desired outcomes and craft solutions
• Oracle background and understanding relational database systems.
• Autonomy and ability to manage projects with a strong focus on user case requirements
• Windows batch and UNIX batch/shell scripting experience.
• Good understanding of development methods as well as web application components
