Job Title: QA Testing Engineer

Location: Bentonville, AR/REMOTE

Duration: 6+ months contract

 

10+ YEARS OF TOTAL IT EXPERIENCE NEEDED

 

Description: This role is helping client create its next generation Cloud Powered Checkout. Cloud Powered Checkout is a multi-tenant, client agnostic, checkout solution using loosely coupled, cloud native micro-service applications and domain driven design principles to seamlessly enable a frictionless customer checkout experience across all sales channels.

 

Areas of responsibility include:

• Performs quality assurance testing for large-scale, web applications, tools, and software by collaborating with project teams to establish test cases and requirements; writing test cases (for example, white, gray, or black box) and system test scenarios in accordance with project requirements and established standards; clarifying and updating test cases; obtaining test case approval from the project team; applying test case instructions to products under testing; executing test cases; evaluating results against expected results; and updating project teams regarding results and needed fixes.

• Supports code development for Cloud Powered Checkout projects by participating in project team meetings to develop project plans; reviewing project requirements to determine coding needs; providing insight to software developers regarding project quality requirements; and providing guidance regarding code development to ensure testability and reliability.

• Participates in medium- to large-scale projects by reviewing project requirements; assisting in the writing and developing of code; conducting unit testing; communicating status and issues to appropriate team members and stakeholders; collaborating with project team and cross-functional teams; troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes; interacting with project manager to provide input on project plan; and ensuring on-time delivery and handoffs

• Develops software quality assurance (SQA) project plans by determining project scope and level-of-effort (LOE) estimates; determining data and environmental requirements; identifying dependencies and risks; identifying necessary resources (for example, staff, equipment); and outlining quality assurance deliverables and deadlines.

• Provides solutions for coding errors by collaborating with software developers to review coding algorithms; developing unit testing plans to test code; developing testing requirements based on code functionality; analyzing testing results to determine needed fixes; evaluating errors to identify trends; performing root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues; querying application logs and databases and checking configuration files to troubleshoot issues encountered during testing; resolving code errors; and recommending code fixes or solutions for testing errors.

 

Must haves for this role:

• Experience in building test automation frameworks and libraries.

• Experience in building and configuring CI/CD flows for multi cloud deployments

• Development experience in Java/J2EE, Web Services testing

• Experience using any of the automation toolset like JUnit, TestNG and CI/CD tools like Jenkins.

• Solid working knowledge in Databases and Rest Services

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline

• Cucumber

• API Development experience

• Docker, Kubernetes
