Job Description:
looking for a resource to lead the planning, analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, and control of the organization's server-class databases.
• Responsibility for modeling, documentation, development and implementation of projects in an ETL environment.
• The resource will work closely with various infrastructure and business partners as well as developers to perform code review, identify design/development issues, fine tune codes.
• The ideal candidate will possess strong technical aptitude for writing SQL and understanding database concepts.
• Attention to detail, ability to translate business requirements into technical friendly specifications to create FSD and TDD.
• Provide mentoring, guidance and general oversight to less experienced staff in a variety of database design, administration and/or modeling activities.
Minimum Qualifications (First 3 are Top 'Technical' Skills Needed):
• 7-10 years technical background with majority of them directly related to ETL (Informatica), data modeling and conformance .
• Hands-on experience in Unix shell scripting
• Experience in Oracle, Teradata data base and/or MS SQL Server
• Ability to provide support and resolve issues during non-business hours
• Skilled in authoring technical documentation and performing reviews, design, data manipulation, and creative problem solving
• Strong collaboration skills with ability to work with group of developers on complex projects developing business requirements identification, analysis and development, including policies, procedures and standards
• Understanding of database structures, table relationships and views
• Ability to take initiative and communication skills are essential
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively, can work on multiple projects in parallel
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to clearly articulate, document and communicate problem and resolution plans
• Demonstrated problem analysis and solving skills including complex problems
• Proven ability to interpret business requirements into data solutions
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Preferred Skills:
• 7 or more years of experience in the Teradata programming and optimization of SQL queries
• 7 or more years of experience in INFORMATICA ETL development . Good knowledge and experience in IDQ, profiling, rule matching and scorcecard is a plus
• Skilled in data warehousing , data marts and large databases
• Good working knowledge on Autosys or any scheduling tool
• Excellent track record of execution and delivery
