Location -           Boise, ID

Start Date -       4/2/12

End Date -         11/30/12

Rate -                 $50/hr

 

ETL Developer

 

The primary role of the ETL Developer is to take the ETL detailed designs, technical specifications and translate these to high performing, high quality ETL code. The ETL Developer must be familiar with data warehousing principles and best practices (such as Audit, Balance and Control; Error Handling, Slowly Changing Dimension development, etc...), logical and physical data modeling in a normalized and denormalized environment, ETL best practices, tools and technologies, security in the ETL environment, ETL design, development, performance tuning, and administration. Candidates must have expertise with Informatica's PowerCenter tool as well as MS SQL Server.

·       Develop ETL that leverages Informatica and SQL Server to process high volumes of data efficiently.

 

·       Adhere to the SDLC and best practices methodologies.

 

·       Participate in system related walkthrough

 

·       Perform analysis necessary to develop specifications

 

·       Analyze new data sources for inclusion into the enterprise data warehouse

 

·       Work with Designers, Architects and Analysts to identify ETL requirements

 

·       Create new Informatica ETL streams for additional data sources.

 

·       Create and execute test plans for newly developed ETL streams

 

·       Follow established standards for implementing Informatica ETL on a SQL Server database. These standards include, but are not limited to, enforcing referential integrity and following purgatory requirements.

 

·       Be able to play data detective role to find out details of existing data storage and configurations.

 

·       Learn about the current high-level business processes and detailed processes within the larger context

 

·       Be able to work independently without detailed information or defined requirements

 

·        Communicate and document the findings, particularly with diagrams (e.g. good Visio skills)

 

·       Be familiar with relational data tools, ETL

 

·       Have experience creating test cases and test data for the requirements

 

·       Create technical specifications and other documents

 

·       Identify blockers and escalate in advance to mitigate risk to project schedule

 

·       Ability to work in Offshore - Onshore project setup that requires flexibility, decisiveness

 

·       Participates in data model, database and ETL design reviews.

 

·       Conducts ETL code reviews.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

·       Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or related field preferred

 

·       Five or more years of experience in ETL programming with Informatica PowerCenter

 

·       Experience working with SQL Server database software and SQL procedures

 

·       Experience working with dimensional modeling

 

·       Experience working with Windows Batch scripting, programming languages and relational databases

 

·       Experience with Informatica Power Exchange

 

·       Informatica Certification a plus

 

 

Other Qualifications

 

·       Good communication skills to communicate with developers, designers, analysts and customers

 

·       Research, data analysis and problem-solving skills

 

·       Ability to work independently and as part of a team
