Here is a list of the primary responsibilities:

• Perform application DBA services for the DB2-z/OS database systems, often involving sensitive and mission-critical enterprise data, with little or no guidance. These services include: backup databases, design, create and change databases, recover damaged databases from a backup, grant permissions to database objects, SQL tuning, and database performance analysis (includes recommending database parameter settings), design and implement disaster recovery techniques.
• Participate and coordinate with the on-site and off-site DBA team members to develop project plans. May manage and implement projects individually or with other team members.
• Provide technical assistance to resources across the enterprise in solving database issues and answering database related questions, and to find solutions to complex database problems.
• Participate in on-call rotation.

Required skills, knowledge and recent work experience are as follows:

• Experience as a z/OS mainframe DB2 Database Administrator (4+ years)
• Experience in programming/software development (2-4 years)
• Mainframe JCL and TSO experience (4+ years)
• SQL Query performance analysis and tuning experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

A strong candidate will have:

• Experience working in a global-team environment.
• SAS programming experience
• BMC database administration tools experience.
• Project management experience.
