Network Operations / Administration Specialist:

6-12 months

Location:  Atlanta, GA


Short Description:

Network Operations / Administration Specialist:  Level 2/3  Support.  Focus for this role will include:  Cisco, Load Balancers, Firewalls, Checkpoint, LAN/WAN, Routing, etc...


Complete Description:

Level 2/3 Network Operations / Administration Specialist


Responsible for:

Handling change requests and troubleshooting (Level 1 support is not responsible for "triage issues").

This is a customer focused "firefighter".  There is little to no build function in this role.  The expectation is troubleshooting and executing the resolution/changes.

Expectation is that 70% of tickets should be able to be resolved with the Network Operations Team.  Consultant should be very customer service oriented.  This individual will be involved in the change management process which includes:  receiving the change request, troubleshooting, gaining approval for the change, executing the change(s).  Weekly meetings to discuss changes and approaches to those requests include presenting to the "change committee" to gain approval.  Communication and customer service mindedness are critical to the success of this role.

Standard working hours to start to include on-call responsibilities eventually.

Consultant must know the platform and have a solid methodology to troubleshooting.  Individual must have a drive for troubleshooting and ability to dive into and determine the root cause of the problem.  Successful individuals have had varied experience not Cisco-centric, but focused on LAN, WAN, Routers, Switches, Hubs, etc…


Technology:

Cisco, 4Ks5Ks7Ks, Cisco firewalls, Load balancer, F4 Load Balancers, Checkpoint, Cisco 6500s.

Consultant should have LAN/WAN, VLAN, Routing, Global Experience – supporting multiple Data Centers with a dispersed user community.

Key components:

Technology knowledge and experience, Communication, Teamwork (the team is very strong and supports one another in all cases – technical resolutions, covering each other in high volume times, as well as training each other on new technologies and approaches to solving complex problems).
