Role: BMC Remedy Functional Analyst

Location:Bellevue, WA

Duration:12+ Months Contract

Highlights of position:

Generally assess the impact of new requirements on an existing suite of complex Enterprise IT applications, cross-functional and cross-departmental projects with high complexity and cross-system impacts.  This position is responsible to plan, direct, and complete the analysis of source systems, and target system problems, provide documentation (FSD), and ensure data flows to the target system as required.  This position provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet business requirements. 

• Translate business requirements into functional / technical specification or source system analysis documents

• Provide input from high-level to detailed estimates for intake, projects, and change requests in areas of responsibility

• Create impact assessments utilizing input and direction from business analyst, architects, development and supporting documentation such as functional specifications and use cases

• Provide analysis support to development and test teams for assigned projects. This can include responding to ad hoc analysis requests and collaborating with test resources to validate test cases, defect triage and resolution

• Generally demonstrate knowledge of application systems in area of responsibility to identify, evaluate and define impacts of changes. Provide alternatives both to the application changing and all upstream and downstream systems, or identify if a change is a manual process taking into account the entire picture as well as the details

• Work effectively with teammates and raise issues to management with appropriate frequency and urgency

• Take initiative to determine the need and to design and deliver training to department and business

• Initiates and executes initiatives to improve the processes, procedures, and tools utilized by the team

• Reviews deliverables and provides input for other analysts

• Creates and delivers articulate and effective oral presentations to a variety of audiences, large or small, internal or external

• Regularly conveys status to stakeholders and management 
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

• Excellent communication and technical writing skills to produce clear and unambiguous deliverables

• Ability to handle multiple concurrent activities and projects

• Capable of quickly learning new systems
• Understand issues and escalate to management 

• MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio) 

• Full understanding of business process and system modeling tools including: Data Flow Diagrams, Process Models, ER diagrams, Dimensional Data Models, Context Models, Event Modeling, State Modeling, Process decomposition, and Use Case Scenarios are required

• Understand the system development life cycle

• Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work, multi-task across many assignments and delegate to others as well as monitor their work for completion 

• Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on an existing suite of complex applications •

Technical writing skills producing clear and unambiguous deliverables

• Ability to provide quality and accurate deliverables

• Ability to recommend appropriate scope of requirements

• Ability to understand and apply system/desktop tools

• Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work, multi-task across many assignments and delegate to other analysts 

• Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on an existing suite of complex applications

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in systems analysis of medium to large scale projects

• Application Development background is a plus. This is technically focused position and generally seen as a progression from a development or business analyst or solution architect role

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or information systems management
