Position: JBOSS Deployment Engineer
Location: Westborough, MA
Duration: 6-9 months
Rate: $50 Max (No flexibility)
Job descriptions:
Primary role is to help build out a new Red Hat Enterprise Linux/JBoss set of capabilities and applications. This role will help with JBoss EAP configuration through tooling Production, QA and Dev environment builds.
Responsibilities:
- Design and assist in building new capability architecture
- Develop and implement processes
- for automated provisioning and scaling of Production and Test / Dev environments
- for monitoring / reporting performance metrics
- Maintain and troubleshoot Production and Test / Dev environments
- As part of an IT Operations team, participate in team projects
Qualifications:
Required Skills & Abilities
- Thorough understanding of the entire Web Technology Stack (request, response, web server, app server, cloud hosting, Content Delivery Network - Akamai , load balancers, proxy servers, forwarding, redirecting, response codes, http headers, cookies, web/rest services, browsers and troubleshooting)
· Experience in Java environments running on JBoss EAP in High Availability configurations.
· Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux platform (RHEL)
· Experience scaling virtual web infrastructure.
· Excellent scripting skills in bash, python, perl, ruby, or like languages.
· Experience with agile and DevOps methodologies and philosophies.
· Experience with automated provisioning solutions, particularly OpsCode Chef.
· Comfortable in UNIX command line environments.
- Experience with webservices and enterprise level web applications
- Experience with rapid release software development practices (Agile/Scrum)
- Solid understanding of testing components and deliverables within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Demonstrated ability to set and meet tight deadlines and function well under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective and enduring working relationships with stakeholders, project managers and other project participants and application owners
- Excellent communication, organization and documentation skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
· Experience working with offshore teams
