Work Summary

The candidate filling this Systems Engineer Senior position will work with development teams to ensure the integrity of the target application infrastructure. Error free, timely deployments and adherence to SDLC processes as well as ETS internal processes is also part of daily routine.

Occasionally support is required during off hours and during weekends.

 

Responsibilities

  Work with development teams and provide assistance regarding:

  Integration of applications on designated platforms and resolve any issues with development   Target environments and architectures   Network infrastructure such as firewalls, networks, routers, etc and implementation of applications into complex network environments   Operations and production supportability   Enforcement of Security standards   Monitor the overall system   Coordinate with 3rd party vendor on maintenance schedules   Coordinate with 3rd party vendor for infrastructure upgrades and patches to ensure security and updates are up-to-date to secure the environments   Coordinate with Performance Engineer to assist on tuning of applications   Act as liaison with other groups within IT (EAO, IPO, Release Management, Software Test and Change Management) in their daily activities to ensure smooth transition from one environment to another and on-time delivery of applications.

 

Experience: The ideal candidate must have outstanding technical expertise, organizational and communication skills, ability to work within the constructs of a team and have at least 5 years of software engineering experience with a minimum of 3 years experience with deploying a variety of applications on Unix/Linux Redhat/Windows environments with JBOSS, Tomcat, Apache middleware as well as IIS. Experience in network infrastructure, including firewalls and load-balancers is preferred. Knowledge of SDLC tools (i.e. BMC Remedy, Dimensions & Power Designer) is a plus, but not required.

Education

A Bachelors degree in computer science or related field with course work in information processing, computer science or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
